Prof. Ryan Fisk brings several years' experience teaching and as a department chairperson to Manhattanville's educational leadership and physical education programs, providing his students the opportunity to explore teaching and administrative software and services, stay abreast of current literature and research trends, and leverage social media and other Web 2.0 tools to connect electronically with other educators. Ryan has served as a director of instructional technology in Great Neck, N.Y., investigating and implementing cutting edge technologies into classroom lessons to strengthen teaching and learning, and he has also developed secondary health and physical education curricula as a department chair and teacher on Long Island.

Ryan is a co-founder of the #EdcampMVILLE conference, providing free, participant-driven professional development to educators in the tri-state area. In partnership with NYS AHPERD (Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance), Ryan also organized a health education conference, bringing over 200 health educators together for the first conference of its kind in Westchester County. Ryan has led over 80 presentations and workshop sessions, sharing innovative practices and facilitating discussion on topics including assessment strategies, GSuite for Education, using Twitter for professional learning, effective technology implementation, media literacy, 'apps' in education, Google Chromebooks, and presentation skills. Ryan has presented sessions for Edcamp, LIASCD, Long Island Connected Educators' Summit, Nassau BOCES, NYSCATE, NYS AHPERD, P.E. Consortium, Rockland BOCES, SHAPE America, and numerous Long Island school districts. Ryan is the associate editor of the AASA (The School Superintendents Association) Journal of Scholarship and Practice, and consults regularly with the NYS Education Department, and NYSTCE on the development and refinements of educational programs and certification exams.

Ryan collaborates with other educators from around the world, sharing best practices on Twitter as @Ryan_Fisk. In his free time, Ryan is an American Red Cross instructor trainer and volunteer, and is currently co-authoring an HIV/AIDS prevention guidance document that will serve as a teaching model for all New York State Health Educators. He also enjoys traveling, skiing, trying out new cuisines, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
